At SalSea, our counselling services provide flexible, person-centred Capacity Building support for individuals who may be waiting to access psychology, feel unsure about engaging with clinical therapy, or are seeking additional emotional support alongside existing care.

Counselling focuses on building practical skills, confidence, and emotional capacity to help participants manage daily challenges, strengthen independence, and progress toward their NDIS goals. Supports are delivered collaboratively with participants and, where appropriate, families, Support Coordinators, and other professionals to ensure they are goal-aligned, practical, and sustainable.

This service is well suited for participants on psychology waitlists, those daunted by diagnostic-focused services, or anyone who benefits from regular, relational support between psychology appointments. Counselling offers a cost-effective way to extend Capacity Building funding, supporting continuity of care.

Counselling at SalSea complements psychology by providing consistent, strengths-based support that helps participants feel supported while developing the skills needed to move forward.
